Situated 200 meters above sea level along the Braulio Carrillo National Park, El Encanto is an agroecological farm, spread over 500 hectares, that is home to more than 100 beautiful horses, 160 heads of cattle and 300 hectares preserved for environmental protection.
A majestic tropical forest full of noble species of trees like Guarumo, Bota Rama and Sotacaballo and Manú breathe life into the habitat of Tapir, Deer, Butterflies, Rare Birds and countless species that call this magical space home.
At El Encanto, you can experience the grace and inimitable stride of the Costarricense de Paso, known in English as the Costa Rican Walking Horse, that traces its lineage back to Carthage and the Royal Courts of Spain. Horseback riding can be catered to any riding experience level, from beginner to expert, and can be arranged in a group or as one-on-one training.
El Lugar is approximately two hours northeast of San José airport in the northern lowlands (Heredia province).
