There are over 450 species of Costa Rica’s 903 birds found here in this unique microclimate where the rainforest is an ideal temperature, humidity and food source for myriad species you would be hard-pressed to encounter all in one place.  El Lugar prides itself on being a part of the crucial conservation of this precious pocket of the world.  For example, our replanting strategy has brought the Green Macaw back to the area.  You can experience it all, whether it is on the back of a beautiful horse, out for a stroll or on one of our birdwatching tours where over 130 rare species have been personally spotted by our guides here in their habitat.
